Bacon Mac N Cheese Burger

Delivery Exclusive: Flavortown Kitchen

As many of you may know I get quite a few DoorDash gift cards whether it be for team lunches or Lunch and Learns. This Adventure falls under this category because when you can have an Adventure paid for there is no better Happy Hour. The only problem is trying to decide what to get but after scrolling through the offers section where you can find discounted meals I finally came across one that caught my eye.

Flavortown Kitchen on DoorDash

I came across Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen! I saw this announced maybe a month ago but I didn’t realize it was on DoorDash let alone being on the Offers section. For those of you that don’t know Flavortown Kitchen is a Delivery Exclusive pop-up that does not have a physical location to dine at. They opened up all across the U.S. to give people a safe way to try something new from celebrity chef Guy Fieri. So the offer only gave me $3 off but I say that qualifies as Happy Hour.

Dessert and Booze

Before we get into the food I’m going to rewind the clock to a prior drink I had made which didn’t have a true Happy Hour Adventure home for it. I decided that since Flavortown Kitchen is all about American food and what is more classic Americana than a milkshake! Well, I guess this isn’t a classic milkshake since we are pouring booze into it but it’s still a good fit. My favorite ice cream is Cookies ‘n Cream especially when it’s slow churned because it is so rich and creamy. Plus when you have chunks of Oreos in there to bring in bursts of chocolate within the sea of vanilla it is perfect. Speaking of Vanilla I decided to finally break open this small bottle of vanilla vodka which I’m pretty sure I’ve had for 5 years. Good thing unopened booze lasts quite a while.

Boozy Milkshake

  • 1 cup of ice cream (your choice)
  • ¼ cup of milk
  • 50 mL of vanilla vodka
Boozy Milkshake

I decided to whip out my souvenir glass from the T-Rex restaurant that I got during a friend’s 21st birthday while I was in the Disney College Program. I thought this was the perfect vessel to contain my Boozy Milkshake. I’ll be honest I wasn’t planning on making this drink I just had ice cream on hand which I rarely do and I saw that my roommate had milk and I remembered the vanilla vodka that I’ve had lying around. If I was prepared I probably would have gotten some whipped cream to top off the milkshake and some Oreos as a garnish. I’m pretty sure I’ve told you my thoughts on vodka with artificial flavors from my Takeout Adventure at Bar Louie. Even with the small amount of vodka compared to the large amounts of ice cream you could still taste the artificial vanilla flavor. I haven’t had too many boozy shakes but I think if I were to make this one again I would most likely use plain vodka.

Flavortown Kitchen Packaging
Cool Design

When you get food delivered or go for takeout you don’t think about the packaging of the food. You are just wanting to dive right into the meal to satisfy your hunger. I just had to call out the packaging for the food from Flavortown Kitchen because it is some of the most unique I’ve ever seen. If you have ever seen Guy Fieri he gives off that Californian Rocker vibe and the packaging matches that vibe. You see those bold colors with tattoo-like prints all over the boxes. It truly is something you don’t see a lot of places doing but I guess when you are a delivery-only restaurant you have to design the packaging that invites you in just as an entrance to a restaurant would do.

Jalapeño Pig Poppers

One appetizer that just screamed at me was the Jalapeño Pig Poppers. Mainly because of the name because in the end, they are just bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers. However, they are some very delicious jalapeño poppers because the first thing that swarms your taste buds has to be the Bourbon Brown Sugar Barbeque sauce. Then you bite into the crispy bacon which enwraps the smoky fire-roasted jalapeños.

Dip Pic

One thing you need to be careful about for each bite is the andouille and pimento cream cheese that may ooze out in each bite. However, I just don’t think the filling is quite as flavorful as it could be. You get this great burst of flavor from the coating of the barbeque sauce and then it gets mellowed out by the filling. I wish the train to Flavortown kept on going non-stop instead of stopping halfway through.

Bacon Mac N Cheese Burger

Another classic American meal has to be a burger! But we are in Flavortown Kitchen so let’s kick it up a notch with a classic southern side of mac and cheese piled on the burger. Also, a little bacon never hurt anyone, well at least not right away. What I enjoyed was the garlic buttered brioche bun which was fluffy and garlicky. The crispy onions helped bring on some crunchy texture which is something I always find delightful. One thing that was listed in the ingredients is Guy Fieri’s famous Donkey Sauce which with all of the ingredients piled on you can’t taste the sauce. I actually looked up a recipe for it and it’s pretty easy to make. All you need is mayo, yellow mustard, roasted garlic, and Worcestershire sauce.

So I had scheduled the delivery for the meal to arrive at 1:30 but it ended up being 45 minutes late. I don’t see the point in scheduling a delivery if it is going to show up nearly an hour late. So by the time I got it everything was cold so I decided at that point I would just save it for dinner. I’m sure it would have been a lot better if I could have had the burger fresh. To me, the patty was just your average patty but luckily the Jalapeño Pig Poppers helped make things tasty and were easy to heat up in the air fryer.

I’ve been to a couple of celebrity chef restaurants but this was not my best experience. I still wanted to ask if you’ve been to a celebrity chef restaurant and if so where did you go?

Let me know down below in the comments and be sure to share with friends and family that would enjoy this Happy Hour.

May the adventures continue! Cheers!
