Signature Duck Wings

Fancy Delivery: Olea Cellar. Craft. Cook

A while back ago I had gotten a coupon for $10 off for delivery from the Caviar App in the mail. For those of you that don’t know about Caviar, think of it as the fancy version of Door Dash. The app tends to have higher-end restaurant offerings so if you are looking for the finer things in life delivered straight to your door then Caviar is your one-stop-shop.

Caviar App

I guess I should say it’s not just fancy restaurants that you can find on Caviar since the first restaurant that popped up was the Bronx Sandwich Company. When I started scrolling through the app there were quite a few of the same restaurants one would find on other apps.

Olea Menu

After scrolling for what seems like 20 minutes trying to decide what I wanted for dinner I finally stumbled upon Olea Cellar. The reason why I ended up choosing this restaurant for a Delivery Adventure is that they deliver cocktails! It’s tough finding restaurants that deliver cocktails so I just had to take this opportunity. However, when I went to put in my coupon code it did not go through. Luckily if you paid attention to the other screenshot there was another coupon that gave me the same discount!

Message from Dasher

One thing that Caviar does a little differently is by sending you some personalized texts to keep you up to date on your order. As the text says I had some delicious smelling wings coming my way. However, it’s unlike any other wing that I’ve had on my Adventures thus far but you’ll have to wait for the reveal until after my drink.

Alcohol Container

We’ve seen many different cocktails in a variety of containers for takeout and delivery purposes. Whether it be a margarita in a traditional plastic cup with tape from Mi Casa Cal Mex Cantina or a Manhattan in a styrofoam container from Benji’s Deli. Not sure if it’s the fact that the handwriting is nice but this has got to be one of the better containers I’ve had a cocktail in.

Smoke and Mirrors

What exactly comes in a Smoke and Mirrors cocktail you may be wondering? This libation is a mix of Bourbon, Peaty Scotch, Creme De Peach, Burnt Thyme, and lemon. I picked this drink because it was there were some ingredients you may never have thought would pair together. The Peaty Scotch brings on the smoke with every sip but then it is thanks to the creme de peach and lemon juice that helps to balance things with some sweetness. This was an unexpected drink that I would not think I would be putting on my list of favorite cocktails.

Signature Crispy Meyer Lemon & Honey Duck Wings

Now there are those wings we have been waiting for! As you can see these are some huge drumsticks, a lot bigger than the wings I had had Verde Kitchen. Well, that is because these are not chicken wings, your eyes have fallen upon duck wings. These are the Signature Crispy Meyer Lemon & Honey Duck Wings to be more specific. My eyes and stomach kept on drawing me to this item on the menu because it brought memories of the firecracker duck wings from Carthay Circle over at California Adventure. These may not have been spicy wings but the flavor was phenomenal with the tartness of the lemon and the sweetness coming from the honey. The Friseé to the side added a touch of bitterness and greens to the wings which helped cut down the sweetness.

This may not be as expensive as my Eureka! Delivery Adventure but even with the $10 off coupon and $25 gift card I still paid $10 out of pocket. That’s what happens when the duck wings are $20 and the cocktail was $14. Even with this price tag, it was one of the best Happy Hours I’ve ever had.
