We are keeping things simple but not as simple as one of the typical Trader Joe’s Happy Hour Adventures. Simple as you only need three ingredients to copy this Happy Hour Adventure. For all of the vegans out there this may not be the best Adventure for you. Who knows maybe one day I’ll try to do a Vegan style Make Your Own Happy Hour Adventure. However, today is not that day, today is the day for all bacon lovers!

3 Ingredient App

As promised only three ingredients are required to recreate this Adventure: bacon, cheese, crackers. I did have to make a substitution and instead of the Club crackers, I used Town House crackers. I mean it’s not my fault that the entire store was sold out of Club Crackers. Most likely because they were having a buy one get one free sale.

Crackers at the Ready

First, you will lay out the number of crackers your heart desires or dependent on how much bacon you have on hand. In my case, I laid out 14 crackers onto my baking sheet. The next and one crucial step is, of course, some wonderful parmesan cheese. Now blanket enough cheese across the entire surface of the cracker. Doesn’t it look like a snow storm came through to greet us with a nice pile of snow on each of these crackers?

Air Fryer Time

Next up you will need to cut each slice of bacon in half until you have a half slice for each of your crackers. You may be thinking, “but Travis I thought your heart desired 14 crackers?” Well, sometimes the heart wants too much. Ok, maybe it’s just the fact that I decided to use the air fryer to cook instead of baking them like the recipe called for. Sometimes your dreams are limited by the tools that you have at your disposal. For me, it all came down to having a small air fryer. So you will wrap each half slice of bacon around your cheese covered cracker. Be sure to snuggle the cheese so it doesn’t fall out. One layer of cheese is never enough, so that calls for another cheese storm to come through to top things off. Then start up the air fryer, I did it at 375 instead of 350 but you can follow the recipe to a tee if you would like.

Bacon Parm Bites

After tirelessly waiting for what seemed like an eternity the Bacon Parm crackers were completed at last. I used some ranch dressing for dipping purposes and I wanted to be a little fancy by trying to do some drips of buffalo sauce on the surface of the ranch. As one final touch, I put some fresh ground pepper to add a little bit of a bite to them.

Dip Pic

My verdict, it’s bacon and cheese so of course, it is going to be delicious. You may have noticed I specifically left out the part about the crackers. Well, the crackers became a little soggy from both the mountain of cheese and the bacon being wrapped around them. It also could have been the fact that I overcrowded the air fryer with too many at a time. Maybe if I cooked them in smaller batches they would have held together a little better. Or maybe it was the cracker itself, maybe that is why they suggest Club crackers instead of Town House crackers. Besides the cracker portion, all it tasted like was bacon covered in cheese which reminds me of my Bacon Wrapped Mozzarella Sticks that I had made. At least this Adventure was a much simpler clean up than that one.

3 Ingredient Drink

I mix things up a bit since this drink was made after the Happy Hour Adventure. We are fast-forwarding to after Christmas where I received a wonderful Cocktail book from my mom for Christmas. I was scouring the book trying to find recipes that involved ingredients I had lying around when the perfect one popped up. All you need is tequila, vodka, and blue curacao which does sound like quite an interesting combo. Although I guess all I would need is gin, rum, and sweet and sour mix and we have an AMF on our hands. Which I may have to make one of these times.

Blue Shark

  • 1.5 oz Tequila

  • 1.5 oz Vodka

  • 0.5 oz Blue Curacao

Blue Shark

The Blue Shark was not my favorite drink that I have made on my Adventures so far. Maybe it is the type of tequila that I used since it is a cheap bottle that I got from Trader Joe’s maybe if I had a better quality Tequila Blanco the drink could have turned out a lot better. When it comes to drinks with just alcohol it is important to use better quality stuff. Except for the case when you are making Long Island Teas because all the alcohol just blends. I’ll have to give it another go with higher quality tequila.
